Marianne Deludes The World

Appearing like a wasted body part with bare armature made from cheap industrial materials and a charred log. ‘Marianne’ references the French symbolic figure for liberty. The arm holds erect a burnt out newspaper torch, acknowledging the U.S. inability to embody the symbol it projects. Were the torch lit, its combustion would be rapid and unsustainable.
